The number of people using mobile phones has increased: over the past twelve months, number of users worldwide has increased by 128 million. GSMA Intelligence reported 5.16 billion unique mobile users at beginning of April 2020, which means that today approximately two-thirds of the world's population use mobile phones. A detailed study by GlobalWebIndex shows that people around world are spending significantly more time on their digital devices due to the coronavirus.


As it turned out, in addition to International Internet Day, which is celebrated on April 4, 2021, there is International Day without Internet. No matter how many times World Internet Day was appointed on different dates, it was not possible to come to one. September 30 was traditional for CIS. September 30, proclaiming the Day of the Internet, to celebrate and conduct a census of Russian-speaking Internet users every year. By that time, their number had already reached 1 million. Although some consider Runet Day - April 7, a record was first registered in world database of ccTLDs on April 7, 1994. Pope John Paul II in 1998 authorized the observance of the International Internet Day. The official patron of Internet has not yet been appointed, although since 2000 Spanish bishop Isidore of Seville, who lived in 560-636, has temporarily protected world wide web, he is considered the first researcher who had a great influence on medieval history. Therefore, in many parts of the world, Seti festival is usually celebrated on the day of ascension of St. Isidore of Seville - April 4. There are several states and national Internet days. Most often they are timed to the date of introduction of the Internet in this country. And on January 27, world community celebrates World Day WITHOUT the Internet.


The use of social media continues to grow rapidly, with number of people using leading platform in each country growing by nearly 1 million.More than 3 billion people worldwide use social media every month, with 9 out of 10 of these users accessing their platforms of choice via mobile devices.


Changes in working methods, demographics, technology and the pursuit of sustainable development pose challenges, but also create new opportunities for improving worker well-being. Technologies such as digitization, automation and robotics can affect psychosocial health and increase other health risks, but they can also improve the well-being of workers.
