November 11, 2021, i.e. on the second Thursday of November, World Usability Day is celebrated. On this day, conferences for professionals in the field of user experience and events in the field of UX, web and interactive design are held. The theme for WUD2021 is Designing Our Online World: Trust, Ethics and Integrity. This year will be a little different, but as amazing as ever! The hybrid format combines live events with online events.
This day aims to bring communities of professional, industrial, educational, civil and government groups together to achieve a common goal, that is, to ensure that services and products that are important to life are more accessible to use. The day is dedicated to celebration and education.
Usability really means making sure something works: that someone with average or even below average ability and experience can use the thing - be it a website, a remote control, or a revolving door - for its intended purpose without hopeless frustration.
The largest percentage of participants were professionals in usability, design, engineering, technology, research, website development, government, and marketing. However, there was an outreach to consumers and young people. A number of events were dedicated to issues of health care, education, communications, public administration, etc.
This discussion will focus on the following questions: what are the big ethical challenges facing the UX field? How do we deal with ethical issues in the workplace? What are industry best practices to avoid unethical practices? After the panel, do a couple of rounds of networking. meeting rooms and meeting other people interested in research, strategy and UX design.
